GEX

I bought this game for only 5 dollars! It's a great game if you like side-scrollers.

Introduction
Gex is a side-scroller that started the gex series. It's about a gecko(gex) who gets warped into a TV and is stuck in different TV/Movie scenarios:Horror, Toon, Jungle, Kung Fu and the Dome. Youmust collect a remot from each level to proceed to the next. And and the end of each scenario you fight a boss character. In all the level there are warp zones where you can fight bonuses. There are also powerups such as fire,lightning, and ic spit which all shoot out of Gex's mouth. He can obtain these by gulping them down with his mouth/tongue. Also gex always says something hilarious during the game which makes it fun to play. He defeats his enemies with power ups or his tail.

Graphics-8/10
The opening FMV is ok but not great. The game maps fpr the levels are innovative at best, they are really nothing special. But it is better than going through level after level with a change of scenery. Gex looks pretty good on screen and his tail and tongue go with his body. Backgrounds are nicely done.


Sounds-8/10
Tail whip and tongue sound sound good. Gex's voice is stellar and very good, but can get annoying after awhile. I found myself after about 2 hours turning the sound off. Background music is all right, but gets repititious.


Control- 9/10
Control is excellent! It's nice how you can just hurl your lil gecko body at the wall and stick!


Gameplay-8/10
Good. Fun to play. Although I wouldn't want to play this for a whole day because you basically just jump and tail slap people. Finding the remote to complete a level offers a little challenge.


Comments-FINAL SCORE-8/10
Overall fun game with a lot of levels, but really no replay value. Great highly recommended.
