REVIEW

INTRODUCTION
This was the flagship title back in the day for 3DO. "WOW! MOM look at the size of those players....whoa is that really 3D!" Yep it sure did look cool compared to those little puny Genesis and SNES games. But God Almighty that's some horrible graphics compared to today's standards. Now it's, "What the hell is that supposed to be? Wow you sure can tell the difference in facial expressions....NOT! This game blows, didn't Nintendo 8-bit have better graphics than this!" Sure it may not be true but it isn't far off. I can see this game would have been fun back in 93 or 94 but today we are way to spoiled with FIFA 2000 and 2001. It's completely different now, it's like comparing a 1950's car to a 2000 model. It's the same thing pretty much but they look drastically different. Also that 1950's car would have been kickin' bsck in the day but now it's a peice of crap. There's no exception with FIFA for 3DO and the new FIFA games for Playstation. But enough about that, I will review FIFA for 3DO as if it had been out around the time when Playstation first came out. So let's go back in time when video games weren't quite as complicated as games are today.

GRAPHICS-7/10
These would have looked pretty darn good back then and almost anyone would begin to hate their SNES and GENESIS compared to these graphics. The players were much larger than any of those old system graphics. This looked pretty cool and the feild looked much more realistic. Also there is plenty of FMV of great soccer moments, although after you play this game for an hour or so you will start to see the same scene again so that kinda sucks. The goals look a little too boxy. The net looks like a peice of cardboard because it is so stiff. These aren't major problems but it sure won't earn this game 10/10 in graphics!

SOUNDS-7/10
Opening is good. The background music is good. Well pretty much everything is good here in sounds.

CONTROL-6/10
This is what I don't like about the game. You cant really control where your players go when on defense. They all just run right to the opponent like robots. There is also a slight problem with shooting. It is really hard to score because it is hard to tell where your shot will exactly go. There is a variety of kicks which is good though.

GAMEPLAY-6/10
This game is fun right when you get it and then you will find yourself wanting to finish a tournament but never try again. This game is mighty fun when you first get it. Sorta like a new puppy fun for a month then gets old. Still the gameplay is good except for the whole walking like robots. Also it does get a bit boring, but you can fix this with a couple of codes. Here codes do not really shorten the games life but extend it making it funner to play.

OVERALL-6.5
Not a great soccer game, but not the worst. If you find it cheap I would buy it. I got mine for 2 bucks and I dont think I would have paid more than 5 or 6. Check on ebay. You can pick it up for nearly nothing but the shipping will kill you. Fun for a short period.
