Burnings soldier is a robot shooter. What's cool about is that you donot move your ship at all just the site, and with a code 4 people can blast away all simeltaneously. Burning Soldier does lack one quality..... it's really really short. In fact me and my cousin beat it in about 45 minutes which proves that there should be a lot more gameplay. It is quite a good shooter though. Also you can hold down the fire button to get a very powerful shot hitting many enemies on screen which is cool.
OK but could be better. The little FMV seens are ok but there should be a little more colorful graphics and complex enemies..... especially the enemies shots which consists of a red blob! Lasers kinda make it hard to see on screen too. I was shooting one time, and could barely see my enemy. Enemies are to small at times too. But you may think the graphics suck now but they don't.... to simply put it, they are average.
Background music is well done. Voice of narrator is well done. Yet one sucks when you play. WHY? Because the narrator is really soft and you must then turn the volume up to hear him clearly, but when the game music comes on it's way to loud. I usually end up turning the sound down so that the speakers don't blow. I miss out on the narrator but oh well after you play the game once he gets old. Lasers sound cool!!! You can't have sucky lasers and these certainly are NOT!
Well seeing that you have no control over your ship the only thing you control is the gun site which is unique yet give a lack of power to you the gamer. Where's the sense of freedom?
Gameplay save this game from the grave. It's very addictive and if it wasn't for it's shortness it would rock. But like I said before it is very short. It's fun blasting that flying crap over and over!
OVERALL FINAL SCORE-6/10
AVERAGE, AVERAGE, AVERAGE! The gameplay is so short that it makes the game get old fast. This would be one of the better space shooters on 3DO but it's to short!
